[ 2014 ]

The two young photographers from "J’adore ce que vous faites" wanted to settle in this beautiful space despite the need for a major renovation.

The idea of the project was to create a photo studio — a space that allows for photography while also accommodating other activities closely or remotely related to photography, and integrating the functions of a living space.

Around the main studio area, different functions were introduced: a photo preparation space (backstage), three independent offices, a large storage area, a fully-equipped kitchen, a wine cellar, a bathroom, a darkroom, and a sleeping area separate from the rest. To preserve as much open space as possible, each function is represented by a distinct volume, separated from the main space. These volumes are then interwoven with each other.

In the main space, there are four volumes around the kitchen island: the wine cellar, the technical room, the bathroom, and the sleeping area. Only the technical room is enclosed to contain noise, while the others are open to natural light coming from the skylight. At the far end, due to the lack of natural light, the large platform accommodates the offices in two glass volumes. The third office is positioned between the two. The storage space is tucked underneath the platform. The color white dominates the space, occasionally complemented by wooden volumes.
