Maubeuge

[ 2013 ]

We kept only one load-bearing wall to divide the day areas from the night areas, a significant constraint that we had to respect. All of the partitions were removed in order to rethink the spaces by their function rather than their perimeter. We created volumes that incorporate storage functions to define certain areas. Storage units between the bathroom and the bedroom, wardrobes between the bedroom and the circulation area, or a bookshelf between the kitchen and the office.

We wanted to highlight the simplicity of the white volumes by bringing out the beauty of the wood, sometimes parquet, sometimes wooden panels, used at the end of the 19th century.
